Police are praising a Florida resident who fatally stabbed a home invader after a suspect shot and killed his wife.
Law enforcement with the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call in Avon Park on Thursday after a violent confrontation was reported at the park, according to reports. Local Outlet Fox 13 Tampa Bay.

After entering, Glenn reportedly pulled out a firearm and shot the female victim in the face, seriously injuring her.
When the victim saw his wife being shot, he jumped and grabbed a gardening knife, police said. His husband reportedly stabbed Glenn repeatedly with a 7-inch knife.

The female victim staggered out of the house, bleeding profusely, and climbed onto the balcony of a neighbor’s house.
Police said the woman is currently in stable condition at a trauma center, and the male victim was treated for minor injuries at a local hospital and later released.
Sheriff Paul Blackmun said in the latest video about the incident that by the time authorities arrived at the scene, Glenn had been “mutilated” and “pretty dead.”

“I would like to commend the male victim for his courage and quick action to protect his wife and home,” Blackman said in the video. “We wish his wife a speedy and full recovery.”
Glenn has previously served at least six prison terms and was previously convicted of burglary and burglary.
The department’s full investigation remains ongoing.
