Comedian Bill Maher recently slammed those on the left who were outraged by his criticism of Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker. The comedian said he doesn’t understand why there’s such backlash.
Butker, a Catholic, made the series of remarks during a commencement speech at Benedictine College, a private Catholic school. As a result, many on the left were furious, claiming Butker should lose his job as a professional soccer player because of this comment.
“I don’t know what the big crime is. It’s really not.”
During a panel discussion about Maher’s “Real Time,” the comedian mocked a critic who described Butker as “the biggest monster of all time.”
“Words can’t express how great this guy is,” Maher said. [Butker] It doesn’t look like me,” he added.[h]Mr. e is religious. He loves marriage. He loves kids…and he’s now the biggest monster in history. ”
“Again, I don’t really agree with this person’s opinion, but I don’t understand. He said… ‘Some of you may lead successful careers in the world. “But if I had to guess, I’d say most of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you’re bringing into the world.” I really don’t know what the big crime is. ”
“And I think this is part of the problem with people on the left, which is that a lot of people in this country are like this. Some of you may go on to successful careers, but many of you are excited about this.”It’s not a choice now, as it once was for everyone.” Is not it? ” Maher added.
“And they feel like they’re being looked at so heavily, as if the only way to be a good person is to get an advanced degree from a ****** factory like Harvard University.” Masu.”
Maher also noted the irony of people on the left choosing what to be outraged about.
“I think it’s very ironic that he’s saying, ‘In my world, women like to stay home and just have kids.’ College students and young people find this absolutely abhorrent.” But they are demonstrating for Hamas to make it law!” Maher said.
“It’s not just Hamas’ opinion that you should stay home and have children. They will enforce it.” [to do] that! “
