Max Verstappen took not one, but two wins on Sunday.
F1’s reigning drivers’ champion got off to a strong start at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in historic Imola, fending off a late charge from Lando Norris to seal victory. But before Verstappen took the checkered flag at Imola, he had already won the day.
At the iRacing Nürburgring 24 Hour Race.
As we talked about on Saturday, Verstappen was competing in the iRacing Nurburgring 24 Hours with: team red line, the sim racing team he competes in when he’s not powering F1 cars on the track. After Saturday’s qualifying, Verstappen took pole position at Imola, taking the virtual wheel and making a shift for the team.
The team then shared this angle from Verstappen’s perspective.
Eventually Verstappen showed up for a driver change.
Probably because he had to go to another race.
While Verstappen prepared to take to the grid in Imola, Team Redline achieved both first and third place in the event, with Verstappen’s team taking the win.
Not bad for a weekend job.
