A very popular dog food blend has been voluntarily recalled due to the risk of containing free metals.
The product in question is a 44-pound bag of Pedigree Adult Complete Nutrition Grilled Steak & Vegetable Flavor Dry Dog Food that was sold at Walmart. according to Food and Drug Administration.
315 bags were affected in four states: Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana.
The affected bags had a best before date of March 4, 2025. The lot code (written near the barcode on the bottom of the back of the bag) is 410B2TXT02.
The recalled dog food was sold at 176 stores. According to CBS News.
“The potential presence of metal debris within the bag may pose a health risk to your pet,” the FDA said in a statement.
“If you believe your pet has ingested an affected product, you should monitor them for unusual behavior and contact your veterinarian if you have any concerns.”
The agency said there were no reports of pet injuries or illnesses at the time of the recall.
