Rumors of Xander Schauffele joining LIV Golf began circulating quickly Sunday evening after winning the PGA Championship. Schauffele beat Crusher GC captain Bryson DeChambeau by one stroke with a spectacular birdie on the 18th hole.
Winning this major will exempt him from competing in the other three majors for the next five years.
Although his job security spread rumors, his father, Stefan Schauffele, stopped talking According to an interview with Golf.com, the trajectory is as follows.
“There’s no chance,” said Stefan Schauffele.
“Xander is not chasing money. Xander is about legacy. And in my opinion, just like his father, he never had a chance.”
Stefan is an important figure in my son’s life. He is Xander’s swing coach and usually attends all events. However, he could not achieve great victory in Valhalla with his son. Instead, Stefan was on the Hawaiian island of Kauai, aboard a small shipping container, overseeing the construction of his future family compound.
His father explained what he and Xander told LIV Golf when the Saudi-backed league made an offer in the past.
“What we told LIV in Saudi Arabia, with Zander next to him, was that if there was no way back on the PGA Tour and no chance to earn world ranking points, there was nothing to talk about. ” Stephen said.
“Even if you threw hundreds of millions of dollars at him. Those words still stand.”
Rumor-mongers felt Schauffele had a cushion at the majors to receive prize money and play in all four major events this year. But that doesn’t appear to be the case.

Stefan isn’t shy about talking about money. Last year he spoke about paying Ryder Cup participants. He felt that they should be directly compensated for their participation. When Patrick Cantlay refused to wear a hat in Rome and Schauffele complied, Stefan claimed that the PGA of America nearly usurped his son’s Team USA spot.
Rumors circulated that week around Cantlay and his hat that it was a protest against not being able to make money from the Ryder Cup. Schauffele and many other Team USA participants followed suit. Mr Cantlay claimed he did not wear his hat because it did not fit properly.
Now that Stefan has put an end to the LIV Golf rumors, his son is likely to be one of the favorites to win the remaining two major championships. Schauffele rose to No. 2 in the world on Monday.
