Speaking on Fox News Channel’s “America’s Newsroom” on Wednesday, Rep. Pat Ryan (D-N.Y.) said responsibility for the border starts with President Joe Biden and that while he has begun to act, it’s “too late.”
“We need to step up our bipartisan efforts. This is not a partisan issue. It is a top priority for my constituents,” Ryan said. “Over a year since my first day in Congress, I have “We have been calling on the president and the governor of New York to come together, take responsibility where it is due, protect our borders, and pass this bipartisan bill that has stalled.”
Co-host Bill Hemmer asked, “Isn’t this going back to the president?” He’s the one who signed 70 executive orders when he went to the White House. ”
Ryan replied: “There’s a lot of reprehensible things here. For decades, we stopped acting like politicians and actually started being patriots and defending our country’s basic responsibility, our borders. We couldn’t really come together.”
Mr. Hemmer then interjected and asked: “Do you accept that responsibility begins with him?”
Ryan replied: I said this publicly. The president is in charge and he needs to take more urgent action, which he is beginning to do. It’s too late. ”
