The former teammate and former critic of Aaron Rodgers said he believes the 40-year-old quarterback can have a big year for the Jets.
Former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings, who won a Super Bowl with Rodgers in 2011, said the star quarterback’s comments during OTAs on Tuesday show he recognizes how important this season is to himself and the entire Jets organization.
“If I don’t do what I know I can do, everybody’s probably going to walk away from here,” Rodgers told Washington Post’s Brian Costello and other reporters about his future with the Jets, noting that the tenures of coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas would likely end if the team struggles. “But I like that pressure. It’s tough to play in a tough market. Not everybody can do it. I’m open to the opportunity.”
