Nearly a month after the first encampment was cleared by police, anti-Israel protesters at the University of California, Los Angeles, set up another encampment on campus, but it didn’t last long: police intervened almost as soon as the encampment was set up.
The occupiers set up the camp on Thursday morning as UCLA’s president testified before Congress about the university’s failure to maintain a safe environment. Private security and campus police tried to quarantine the camp by creating a perimeter and barring any further people, food or water from entering.

Anti-Israel protesters had vowed to occupy parts of UCLA for weeks after the first encampment was cleared in an hours-long police operation. Other universities have cracked down on encampments that they say create hostile environments.
Other universities have succeeded in getting agreements to remove the camps after agreeing to some or many of the occupation’s demands, such as divesting financially from Israel or joining an academic boycott.
Hours after a new camp was set up at UCLA, police were called in to remove people who failed to disperse, and protesters clashed with police outside the camp.
Protesters in the zone quickly moved from their planned location and began marching through Dodd Hall. Some began to leave, but many in the crowd remained. start A sit-in to occupy a building.
“I think they’ll be operating in our city when they leave campus for the summer. A lot of schools do these kind of operations so wherever they go back to, there will be enough people there and more non-students will help them out. They’ve been planning this camp for quite some time. I’ve been hearing whispers during my undercover work for quite some time,” Today is America journalist Cam Higbee told The Blaze News when asked if he thought protesters would continue camping on school grounds.

Another encampment, complete with barricades, has remained set up for weeks at California State University, Los Angeles.
