Joe Biden Blames Record-Setting Illegal Immigration on Republicans

President Joe Biden has blamed Republican lawmakers for record levels of illegal immigration into the US, suggesting they are getting in the way of “border security.”

A bill that would have expanded legal immigration while allowing tens of thousands of migrants along the U.S.-Mexico border failed in the Senate on a 43-50 vote Thursday.

The bill included a number of measures, including increasing the number of annual green card admissions by 50,000, speeding up the process of obtaining work authorization for immigrants released onto U.S. soil, and allowing the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to interact with approximately 35,000 immigrants at the border before implementing border controls.

After the Senate blocked the bill, Biden Claimed Republicans have no interest in “securing our border or fixing America’s broken immigration system” and instead “chose to stand in the way of border security.”

“We must better secure our border and ensure America remains a beacon of hope and opportunity,” Biden said. “Today, and every day, I remain committed to taking action to address our broken immigration system.”

Biden’s remarks came as House Republican leaders detailed 64 actions by the president since taking office in late January 2021 that have led to record levels of illegal immigration.

These measures include halting all border wall construction, ending the Remain in Mexico policy, repealing the Cooperative Effort Agreement with Central America, repealing Title 42, and creating a parole pipeline for immigrants seeking release into the United States.

Recently, the House Homeland Security Committee reported that migrant encounters nationwide under the Biden administration have Top 10 million By the end of fiscal year 2024, we will achieve a record that is unprecedented in American history.

To date, about 9.5 million migrants have been encountered at the border since Biden took office, with about 8 million of those occurring along the southern border, where security is not provided for new migrants to enter. 70 to 90 percent It may be released into the United States.
