We already know that Gillis wasn’t wearing a body camera during his encounter with Scheffler, according to city officials, and there was also the strange video released by the Louisville Metro Police Department on Thursday. But the department also released Gillis’ personnel record, which left me thinking, “Whoa! What the hell is going on?”
According to NBC News, Gillis has a history of “inappropriate behavior” in the past, including driving “with an intoxicated civilian in a police vehicle” and “starting the ‘donut’ dance in a company parking lot” (for which he was suspended for five days), as well as pursuing “vehicles that had not committed any violent crimes or had any warrants” and “being responsible” for multiple accidents.
