Foreign national breaches Air Force base while on the run from Border Patrol agents: Report

A Mexican national entered the U.S. Air Force base this month while fleeing from Border Patrol, a Customs and Border Protection spokesman said recently. New York Post.

The suspect, a 17-year-old male, fled on foot after being stopped by Border Patrol in Del Rio, Texas, and jumped the fence surrounding Laughlin Air Force Base, authorities said.

“It was tracked down by USBP’s dog team.”

According to a press release from the base, someone “intruded” onto base grounds on May 23. The suspect was pursued by Border Patrol agents after “jumping the perimeter fence near the base’s north gate and entering Laughlin Air Force Base.”

“The individual was tracked by USBP’s on-base dog team and was safely apprehended approximately one hour after entering the base,” according to the press release.

Four adult men who were in the car with the boy were also detained, the paper reported, and a source told the paper that all of them were believed to be in the country illegally.

“A cordon was established adjacent to base housing during the incident to ensure the safety of base residents,” the base said in a statement.

This month, two Jordanian nationals attempted to break into Marine Corps Base Quantico near Triangle, Virginia. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials recently Confirmed The men are illegal immigrants.

“Marine Corps base authorities have notified Washington, D.C., Enforcement and Removal Operations of the arrests,” said James Covington, a spokesman for Washington Enforcement and Removal Operations.

“ERO deportation officers in Washington, DC responded and arrested both individuals without incident. Both individuals will remain in ERO custody pending the completion of deportation proceedings,” Covington added.

One of the men was arrested in April after illegally entering California from Mexico but was released after receiving a summons, while the other was in the US on an expired student visa.

On Wednesday, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, a Republican, sent a letter to President Joe Biden demanding a detailed explanation of the attempted break-in. Blaze News Reported previously.

“I am deeply concerned by a series of recent attempts to illegally enter U.S. military installations, including two in Virginia,” Youngkin wrote. “The attempted intrusion at Quantico and the federal government’s silence regarding the immigration status of the individuals involved once again highlight the seriousness of failing to notify the state government of illegal immigrant incursions in order to secure our southern border and keep all Virginians safe.”
