‘American Sniper’, ‘Lone Survivor’ and ‘Hacksaw Ridge’ are Hollywood blockbusters that tell true war stories of real people

Hollywood movies are sometimes the product of pure imagination, but sometimes they are true stories about real people.

There have been many war movies over the years that are based on real events, and many of these movies use fictional characters to tell the story.

These three Oscar-nominated films are based on real people.

1. “American Sniper”

American Sniper is a 2014 film about Navy SEAL Christopher Kyle, played by Bradley Cooper.

The film, directed by Clint Eastwood, is based on the 2012 book “American Sniper: The Autobiography of the US Military’s Deadliest Sniper,” written by Kyle, Jim DeFelice and Scott McEwan.

The film depicts Kyle’s life serving his country and his life with his family back home.

Kyle served in the Navy SEALs from 1999 to 2009. He is the most killed sniper in U.S. military history, with 255 credited kills, 160 of which were confirmed, according to his book.

Kyle served four tours of duty in Iraq, receiving numerous honorable military awards for his service.

In 2013, Kyle and one of his friends were killed at a shooting range in Texas by a former Marine they were trying to help.

“American Sniper” was nominated for Best Picture this year, and Cooper was nominated for Best Actor for his performance as Kyle.

The film was also nominated for Best Original Screenplay, Best Film Editing and Best Sound Mixing, and won an Academy Award for Best Sound Editing.

2. Lone Survivor

“Lone Survivor” is a 2013 film that tells the true story of United States Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell. The film is based on the 2007 book “Lone Survivor: An Eyewitness Account of Operation Red Wing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10” by Luttrell and Patrick Robinson.

Mark Wahlberg plays Luttrell in the film, which is a recreation of Operation Red Wings in Afghanistan, during which Luttrell was the only survivor of his team in 2005.

Luttrell has a small cameo in the film.

Luttrell received decorations for his service, including the Navy Cross and the Purple Heart.

The 2013 film was nominated for two Academy Awards, for Best Sound Mixing and Best Sound Editing.

3. “Hacksaw Ridge”

Hacksaw Ridge is a 2016 film about Desmond Doss, a United States Army combat medic who served during World War II. Doss is played by Andrew Garfield in the film.

Doss was a religious man who did not believe in violence, and although he enlisted in the army to serve his country, he refused to bear arms.

Doss went into battle unarmed to help wounded soldiers, and he rescued approximately 75 wounded soldiers at Hacksaw Ridge.

Doss died on March 23, 2006 at the age of 87.

In 1945, Doss became the first conscientious objector to be awarded the Medal of Honor during World War II, according to the World War II Museum.

The film was nominated for six Academy Awards. Garfield was nominated for his performance as Doss. The film won for Best Film Editing and Best Sound Mixing.
