After weeks of overly serious and unfunny comments about Harrison Butker’s defense of Christian values, former Eagles center Jason Kelce provided us with some much-needed laughs.
Between New Heights On the podcast he hosts with his brother Travis, sibling Kelsey joked with his wife about Butker’s comments about the importance of motherhood and being a housewife in a woman’s life. “My wife was a little annoyed at first with some of the comments, so I was like, ‘Go back to the kitchen and make me a sandwich.'”
The joke made his brother laugh out loud.

But despite the joke, Jason admitted he wasn’t on board with Butker.
“There are always going to be some opinions that everyone shares that you don’t agree with, and a lot of the things he said in his commencement speech I don’t agree with,” he said. Saidby New York Post.
Kelsey added, “And for me, when I hear someone talk and I find so much value in what they’re saying, like when they’re talking about the importance of family and the role that a great mother can play, but at the same time acknowledging that not everyone has to be a housewife if they don’t want to do that in life. When I’m listening to someone, I take in the things that I love and I hear other things and I say, Oh, I don’t like that.”
Kelsey was apparently referencing a speech Butker gave at the commencement ceremony on May 11, in which he said his wife would agree that having a family is more important than a career.
“My beautiful wife, Isabel, will be the first to say that her life truly began when she found her calling as a wife and mother. I am able to stand on this stage and become who I am because of my wife, who is dedicated to her calling. I owe all of my success to a girl I met in middle school class who converted, became my wife, and began my path to one of the most important qualities – being a homemaker. I can’t emphasize that enough,” Butker said in his speech.
