Unsuspecting NYPD officer caught on video being doused with fire extinguisher in sick prank

Shocking new video footage shows a passing motorist spraying an unsuspecting NYPD traffic officer with a fire extinguisher while the officer was sitting in his patrol car in Harlem.

The incident happened around 6:50 a.m. Thursday as the agent was driving a NYPD patrol car north near 118th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue when a four-door sedan pulled up next to the agent, video shows.

The front passenger of the sedan can be seen holding a fire extinguisher on his lap as he yells “Yo!” at the officers and sprays the extinguisher into the open window of the patrol car.

In the video, occupants of the sedan can be heard laughing as they drive away while music plays in the background.

A fully masked man in the back seat then appears to repeatedly say “Lord Diablo,” referring to the Devil.

The video, posted to Instagram, received 739 likes and was shared 4,107 times.

The 43-year-old officer suffered an eye injury as a result, and was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital in stable condition, according to the NYPD.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
