Democratic strategist James Carville said on the Politicon podcast that Democrats are losing young and black voters by ignoring the economy.
“The generational theft that’s going on in this country is a crime of the first degree,” Carville said. “We wonder why young people aren’t coming home to the Democrats, why black people aren’t coming home to the Democrats, because the Democratic message is full of bullshit. Talk to us about the cost of living and we’ll help solve this problem. Stop talking about f***ing Gaza and student loans. That’s bullshit.”
He continued, “Why forgive student loans for students who go to Harvard? According to Scott Galloway, Harvard is nothing more than a hedge fund with classrooms. They have a surplus of $52 billion. Why would taxpayers bail out these people? Why not propose taxing every university with an endowment over $5 billion and using that money to bail out their graduates?”
Carville added: “We all know where we are. We know where we stand. We know what the polls say. We know how old President Biden is. Let’s stop quibbling about what’s in front of us and start getting some clarity.”
