Disney’s Hulu to Stream Gay Dating Reality Show ‘I Kissed a Boy’ for Pride Month

Disney-owned Hulu to air gay dating reality show I kissed a boy! This comes as part of the streamer’s programming leading up to Pride Month, which begins on June 1.

Hulu announced its “Hulu Has Pride” lineup on Monday, which includes the BBC’s I kissed a boy! In the show, 10 gay men are invited to a picturesque Italian villa to put their love to the test – as the title suggests, participants must first kiss their potential partner before moving forward with the dating process.

The Walt Disney Co. has been gradually integrating its family-friendly Disney+ and Hulu offerings over the past few months, with the two services now available together in one streaming bundle and Disney+ subscribers able to access Hulu through a tab within the Disney+ app.

Disney has been increasingly embracing LGBTQQIAAP2S+ programming and politics in recent years.

In the past few years, Disney has fought Florida’s parental rights anti-grooming education law, created multiple transgender and gender non-conforming characters for its children’s programming, put gay characters at the center of big-budget films, and launched an LGBTQQIAAP2S+-themed clothing line.

Over the past year, CEO Bob Iger has repeatedly insisted the company would dial back on social messaging in an attempt to calm investors shaken by huge losses. In 2023, Iger received a big pay raise as Disney slashed its workforce and suffered a string of humiliating blockbuster movies.
