A woman who is biologically male but identifies as female dominated her competition in the girls’ 400-meter dash at the Washington State High School Track and Field Championships over the weekend. The Daily Mail reported..

While her fellow athletes applauded the other women, Garcia “stood in protest” when she received her winner’s medal.
OutKick reported that Garcia, a student at East Valley High School in Spokane, won Saturday’s qualifying race for the Tacoma state championships in a time of 55.59 seconds, beating the runner-up by more than three seconds. The Daily Mail added that boos and jeers could be heard when Garcia stood on the podium for the medal ceremony, and that while other women applauded their finishers, Garcia “calmly rose to her feet in protest” when she received her first-place medal. The paper added that at that moment “the stadium was virtually silent.”
The Daily Mail further reported that if Garcia had competed in the men’s competition, he would not have even finished in 16th place because the slowest male time was 53.12 seconds, more than 2.5 seconds faster than Garcia’s time.
The Daily Mail reported last year: Garcia finished 164th out of 172 competitors. He won the men’s 5000m at the regional championships.
According to the Daily Mail, public schools in Washington state will now require all students who take part in PE and athletics to be able to do so in accordance with their gender identity, without having to provide medical proof of gender transition.
