Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy argued that President Joe Biden cannot secure the border.

During the interview CBS Rep. Murphy, D-Conn., said Sunday that President Biden has limited authority to issue executive orders that would affect the border.
The Democrat argued that Biden lacks the ability to muster the resources and that if he tries to close parts of the border, the courts would block the order.
Last week, Senate Republicans were infuriated by Democrats’ efforts to revive a border bill that had already failed.
But Murphy maintained that a bipartisan bill is the only way to secure the border.
“I believe the only way to bring order to the southwest border is through bipartisan legislation,” Murphy said. “There is a bipartisan border bill. If Republicans decide to support it, it can be passed. It can be delivered to the president’s desk. It’s up to Donald Trump and the Republican Party to decide if they want to solve the problems on the border or if they want to keep the border in chaos for political advantage in the upcoming election.”
The Border Patrol is reportedly on track to record up to 120,000 apprehensions in May alone.
