Donna Edwards Says Trump Doesn’t Have the Same ‘Juice’ — Trial Taking a ‘Toll’

Former Rep. Donna Edwards, D-Md., said Monday on MSNBC’s “The Chris Jansing Report” that former President Donald Trump doesn’t have the same “power” as the New York business records trial takes its toll on him.

“I certainly agree. It’s clear that this trial has put a strain on Donald Trump. I think he has lacked the ability to balance what he’s doing in his Manhattan courtroom with what he has to do on the campaign trail, which is why he has had organized rallies in the Bronx, near his golf course in New Jersey,” Edwards said.

She added: “Again, as we all know, he’s trying to conserve his energy and his time to have these trials. It’s not going to get any easier as the calendar moves towards November. I think Brendan’s right. There’s the money issue, he doesn’t have the ability to draw large audiences like he did in 2016, and certainly even less in 2020. So he needs to be at these events that are prepared and planned to make the most of the time he has available for the election trial.”
