A Florida woman made a daring move to escape police after being caught having sex in public with a man by jumping into the ocean from a historic pier, Naples police said.
Police say Alicia Lazo, 20, and Zadok Westfield, 23, were on the Naples Pier in Naples around 4:30 p.m. on Memorial Day when police responded to multiple reports of the pair engaging in sexual activity. The pier is a popular tourist spot known for its fishing, bird watching, dolphin watching, and spectacular sunrise and sunset views.
After ordering the rowdy duo to put on their clothes, they stood up in a “disheveled state,” according to the police report.
Authorities said Lazo adjusted his swimsuit, walked to the end of the pier and jumped into the water despite officers trying to stop him.

Westfield, accompanied by officers, explained that he and Lazo initially swam to the end of the pier and climbed to the top to jump, but instead decided to engage in sexual activity in an area behind a locked gate on the pier.
A witness told police she was at the beach with her child and a friend’s children, ages 7, 11, 12 and 15, when she saw the two engaging in sexual activity. The witness said the minor children were asking questions about what the two were doing.

Both Razo and Westfield were charged with trespassing, disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct. Razo was also charged with resisting arrest without violence.
First built in 1888, the pier stretches out into the Gulf of Mexico and has had to be rebuilt multiple times due to hurricanes.
It was heavily damaged during Hurricane Ian in 2022, with over 30 pilings toppled and half the pier washed away. It is currently only partially open.
