Red Bull has bought a minority stake in Leeds and will become the team’s primary kit sponsor next season, with the soft drinks company joining owners 49ers Enterprises to add the Championship club to its extensive football portfolio.
The Red Bull logo will appear on the front of the men’s and women’s first team uniforms but there will be no change to the club’s name or the name of Elland Road Stadium.
“We are delighted that Red Bull is joining us to build a bright future for Leeds United and share our deep respect for this truly special club,” said chairman Parag Marathe. “As chairman, my team and our consortium of investment partners will be invaluable to me at this pivotal moment for the club, now and into the future. The addition of Red Bull marks a historic milestone and will further empower the club to maximise its competitive position.”
Leeds will become the sixth club Red Bull has been involved with, joining RB Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg, New York Red Bulls, RB Bragantino and RB Brasil. “We have an ambition to bring Leeds United back to the Premier League,” said Oliver Mintzlaff, Red Bull’s chief executive of corporate projects and investments.
