President Biden’s reelection campaign on Wednesday blasted MSNBC and CNN for ignoring a “Black Voters for Biden-Harris” rally in Philadelphia because they were too busy covering the historic New York v. Trump trial.
At a rally on the first day of the jury verdict in former President Trump’s New York criminal trial, Biden promised to appoint progressives to the Supreme Court if re-elected. With Trump’s historic trial dominating the news for weeks, at least one Biden campaign staffer feels that MSNBC and CNN should have cut the current president’s remarks instead of airing them.
“The president spoke to about 1,000 black voters in Philadelphia about the huge importance of this election. @MSNBC From CNN “Other programming did not air it. Instead, there was more coverage of the trial impacting one person: Trump,” Biden campaign spokesman TJ Ducklo wrote in a post on X.

Ducklo adds: “Then they ask, why isn’t your message spreading?”
Ducklo elaborated when asked for additional comment.
“Media organizations have a duty to make sure the American people know that if Donald Trump regains power, he will further his extreme anti-abortion policies, use the Department of Justice as a weapon against the American people, build detention camps and oversee mass deportations, increase the cost of health care, prescription drugs and housing for Americans, and cut their hard-earned Social Security and Medicare benefits. So when they can’t hear it, the public will hear it from us,” Ducklo told Fox News Digital.
CNN declined to comment. MSNBC did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The initial social media posts caught people’s attention, with many wondering why the Biden campaign didn’t want to focus on the trial of its opponent.

Columnist Eddie Scully joked, “The Biden campaign has gone from ‘Shut him down, media, he’s a criminal’ to ‘Why are we worried about this criminal?'”
Biden’s remarks, which were not carried live by MSNBC or CNN, underscored what’s at stake in the upcoming election for both conservatives who have praised the Supreme Court’s 6-3 majority in recent years and progressives who have denounced landmark decisions that ended federal protections for abortion and expanded gun rights.
“The next president could appoint some justices, and if he actually replaced some of the justices who are retiring and appointed some very progressive justices that we’ve had, would you tell me that wouldn’t change your life?” Biden told the audience.
