Hillary Clinton touts ‘she was right’ merch after Trump’s guilty verdict

Just hours after her one-time rival Donald Trump became the first former president to be convicted of a felony, Hillary Clinton proudly promoted a new product with the slogan “She Turned Out Right About It All.”

The former secretary of state on Thursday posted a $22 mug featuring an image of herself sipping tea on Instagram after a Manhattan jury convicted the 77-year-old Trump in a historic hush money trial.

“I recently created some new merchandise based on a phrase I’ve been hearing a lot, and the design was just completed today,” Clinton said. I wrote it next to the post.

“By purchasing this item, you’re supporting the Onward Together group, which is defending democracy, and you also get a lovely mug to drink your tea from,” she added, referring to the group she founded to raise funds for progressive political groups.

Clinton, who lost to Trump in the 2016 presidential election, has repeatedly denounced her former Republican rival as a threat to democracy, once calling him an “illegitimate president”.

The Democratic congressman made the illegal remarks public in a 2019 interview with CBS, where he claimed the Trump campaign used “voter suppression,” “voter purges,” “hacking,” and “false reporting” to win the election.

Clinton also appeared to again criticise Trump and his conviction at the 23rd annual Global Leadership Awards ceremony hosted by the non-profit Vital Voices Global Partnership in Washington DC.

Taking to the stage at the John F. Kennedy Center, the former first lady joked, “What’s happening today?”

“Honestly, there’s no better place to be,” she said after the crowd erupted in laughter and cheers.

Trump was convicted Thursday on all 34 counts of falsifying business records related to the $130,000 that his former “fixer” Michael Cohen paid to porn actress Stormy Daniels just before the 2016 election to silence her allegations that she slept with the real estate mogul a decade earlier.

The leading 2024 Republican presidential candidate has slammed the lawsuit as “unjust” and “disgraceful” and said his lawyers plan to appeal the ruling.
