Is this 4-wheel security robot about to replace human security guards?

The security industry is on the brink of a revolution with the introduction of the next generation of autonomous security robots: Thalamus 2024. Designed and manufactured in France, Thalamus is a groundbreaking autonomous security robot that redefines how we think about surveillance and protection.

Imagine having a robot patrol the streets, keeping an eye on things, instead of humans. That’s right: the thalamus takes over the redundant tasks and dangerous patrols, allowing the human guards to focus on what humans do best: making the tough decisions when it matters most.

Don’t get us wrong, Thalamus isn’t here to take jobs away from hard-working people. Rather, it’s like the ultimate sidekick to take over the tedious and dangerous parts of the job. Equipped with cutting edge sensors and artificial intelligence capabilities, it’s always on the alert, ready to alert the human team if anything fishy happens.

The intimidating presence of security robots

It weighs 551 pounds, is 7.5 feet long, and has a top speed of 18.6 mph. Thalamus It makes an intimidating impression. Its size and speed act as a powerful deterrent and complement its main functions of detection and communication. Equipped with two artificial intelligence modules and an innovative mobility concept, Thalamus can patrol autonomously, day or night, and navigate with ease even in the most challenging terrain.

Security robots combine intelligence and efficiency

Thalamus is equipped with four thermal cameras, including a remote-controlled PTZ camera that provides a 360-degree field of view. All feeds are recorded in HD and analyzed in real time on the robot by powerful artificial intelligence algorithms that can identify if there are people, vehicles, animals or objects in the protected area that should not be present. In the event of an incident, Thalamus triggers silent or audio and visual alarms and also provides pre-recorded messages to ensure a fast and effective response.

Four security threats posed by security robots

Thalamus is an organization to be reckoned with, with four core missions that set it apart from traditional security measures:

1. Increase security efficiency: Equipped with advanced sensors and AI algorithms, Thalamus continuously monitors and patrols sensitive sites, strengthening security protocols like never before.

2. Reduce operational costs: The autonomous robot seamlessly integrates with existing security structures, optimizing resource allocation and reducing unnecessary expenditure on human staff and manual monitoring.

3. Accelerate incident response times: With the ability to quickly identify potential threats, Thalamus sends real-time alerts to security staff, minimizing risk with fast and accurate response.

Four. Reduce risk to personnel: With its versatile navigation capabilities and ability to adapt to hazardous environments, Thalamus significantly reduces the need for human presence in high-risk situations, keeping staff out of harm’s way.

Security robots cannot be stopped in any environment

For environments with extreme heat, humidity, and dust, the Thalamus Tropical model is designed to withstand the harshest conditions: the camera can withstand winds of up to 152 mph, and the robot weighs 551 lbs, giving it the stability it needs to keep working in any situation.

  • new Military Standard PTZ Camera Superior technical specifications provide improved visibility and resolution at long distances.
  • 360 degree view camera replacement More effective low-light sensor Improves night vision.
  • Two rows of powerful spotlightsBy alternating between infrared and visible light, the robot can see clearly at night and simultaneously illuminate potential threats for security personnel.
  • New software and hardware systems Improves GPS navigation accuracy and allows navigation without a GPS.
  • Increased acoustic power For a more effective deterrent message.
  • Increased flexibility In processing and accessing video images.

The first Thalamus 2024 units are currently in production and are expected to be delivered in the coming weeks. The company says that the first machines will be shipped to the US this summer to introduce the robot to potential buyers.

Cost of the thalamus

While the company hasn’t disclosed the exact price of the robot, it says Thalamus’ cost will be economical and cost-effective, especially since it will be offered as a robot-as-a-service (similar to leasing a car), where businesses would pay a monthly fee to rent the robot for security purposes. Pricing is expected to be in the range of around $10,000 per month.

Important points about the cart

Autonomous security robot Thalamus promises a new era of efficient, cost-effective surveillance without putting personnel at risk. The company says it is stepping in as companies around the world struggle to recruit motivated personnel for security jobs. But the robot’s powerful capabilities have raised concerns from critics. Replacing human security roles with AI risks losing human judgment and losing jobs. As advanced 2024 models begin to be rolled out, proponents must carefully assess the benefits and risks and implement strong safeguards to address public concerns. This controversial but groundbreaking solution requires responsible oversight.
