Eric Trump, the adult son of convicted former President Donald Trump, highlighted his father’s campaign fundraising numbers immediately after the conviction.
“What’s really amazing is, if you just look back to 2016, the largest fundraising drive in history at that point was $16 million raised in one day,” Trump told Fox News’ Jesse Watters.
“And just a few minutes ago, we announced $52.8 million in a 24-hour period, but it’s probably another $5 million to $6 million more than that based on the fact that this was exactly 24 hours after the time of the indictment, which was around 5:30 p.m. [p.m.]” Trump continued.
Trump’s father, a presumptive Republican presidential candidate, was convicted of all 34 felony charges for falsifying business records about hush money payments to cover up his alleged affair with porn star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election.
The sentence came after a jury reached a verdict earlier than expected on Thursday. Former President Trump said shortly after the verdict was handed down that “the real verdict will be handed down by the American people on November 5th,” a reference to Election Day. His legal team said they were considering all options for appealing the conviction.

Eric Trump criticized the incident on “Jesse Watters Primetime” on Friday, saying, “They literally shut down the entire lower Manhattan for six weeks with the largest NYPD staffing we’ve ever seen.”
“You saw thousands of police officers literally barricading themselves around the courthouse over $130,000 of personal property,” Eric Trump said. “No kidding. Nobody believes it.”
Eric Trump went on to claim that “the country is outraged,” which is why millions of dollars in small donations are pouring into his father’s campaign.
“We’ve never raised this much money in this country before. People are rooting for my father in ways they’ve never done before. I can’t put into words how much love there is right now,” Eric Trump said. “If you look at his approval ratings, I guarantee this is going to help him win.”
