A helicopter crashed and caught fire in New Hampshire on Saturday afternoon, but the pilot survived.
According to New Hampshire State Police, the helicopter crashed in a wooded area in a residential area of Danbury around 12:45 p.m.
Authorities said an initial investigation showed the pilot lost control.

Photographs of the incident showed the remains of the helicopter after the crash.
The pilot, whose name has not been released, survived the accident.

Police said he was injured but awake, breathing and alert, and he was taken by ambulance to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center for treatment.

New Hampshire State Police urged residents who may have witnessed the accident to contact the Danbury Police Department.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the NTSB are conducting further investigations into the incident.
