Kathy Griffin estimates she lost a third of her fan base after her infamous photo shoot in which she held a bloody fake head made to resemble former President Donald Trump.
Griffin, whose career fell apart after the photo was taken in 2017, detailed the fallout he dealt with during a recent appearance on Dan Le Batard’s podcast, South Beach Sessions.
Losing a large portion of its audience forever was the biggest damage it had ever done to itself. Reports.

“What hurts me is that we’ve lost about a third of our audience, probably permanently, over the Trump thing,” Griffin said during the podcast broadcast Friday.
“I think I got an audience that was maybe a little more political or a little more liberal, but I was keen to play Southern parts because I was seen as someone who was making fun of Hollywood and the Kardashians and celebrities,” she was reported as saying.
This is not the first time Griffin has spoken about the impact his decision has had both professionally and personally.
The photo, taken by photographer Tyler Shields, sparked intense controversy when it was first published online by TMZ in May. (Tyler Shields/TMZ)
In November 2023, Griffin said she was meowing like a cat and mooing like a cow during yoga to deal with the PTSD she claims President Trump caused, Breitbart News reported.
she said Vulture says he now does something called “cat cow” to deal with his PTSD.
The comedian explained that he makes animal noises while doing cat and cow poses during yoga, but insisted he’s doing nothing wrong.
After much reflection, I came to the conclusion that I had done nothing wrong. https://t.co/L55u6n37uC

“I get on all fours like a kitten, arch my back, and the teacher tells me to say ‘meow.’ I feel really stupid, but I do it,” she said.
“Then I lean back and I moo like a cow,” Griffin added. “PTSD is a nasty disease, and when I have a PTSD attack, I vomit nonstop, so if I have to meow like a kitten and moo like a cow, I absolutely will.”
