Carl Lentz to Launch Podcast, Refutes Claims of Returning to Ministry

Former Hillsong New York Church pastor Carl Lentz launched a new podcast on June 4th, telling his followers he will not be returning to pastorship.

Pastor Lentz was fired from Hillsong in 2020 for “moral failings,” including infidelity to his wife, Lauren. While pastoring Hillsong NYC, Pastor Lentz had an affair with Brooklyn, New York, designer Ranin Karim. After his firing, other allegations of infidelity emerged, including with a Hillsong NYC staff member who also served as Pastor Lentz’s nanny, who claimed she had been abused by Pastor Lentz.

In 2023, Lentz joined Pastor Mike Todd’s Transformation Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, temporarily returning to pastoral duties as a strategist.
