The Naval Special Warfare Command (which oversees the Navy’s SEALs and other Navy special operations forces) celebrated Pride Month with a special graphic on its Facebook page on June 1.
The graphic, painted in rainbow colours and featuring the official insignia with the words “dignity,” “service,” “respect,” “equality” and “pride,” was posted to the official Facebook page.
After receiving backlash, the command restricted who could comment on the post.
The most liked comment on the post read: “This is an insult to all the special forces who have risked their lives for our country.”
The second most liked comment was, “This woke motherfucker is like a cancer and needs to be addressed and treated.” [sic] “We view this as a threat to national security. It’s going too far.”
The third most liked comment was, “So glad we got out before this stupidity spread.”
The command did not post the graphic to X or its Instagram page.
However, the post was highlighted with an X by Libs on TikTok.

Even though June is also Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Awareness Month, Naval Special Warfare Command posted the Pride Month post first and the PTSD Awareness Month post second. The command did not restrict comments on the latter post.
This is not the first time the U.S. Navy has courted controversy on social media.
In 2023, the U.S. Navy confirmed it had hired drag queens as part of a pilot “digital ambassador” program to boost recruitment, Breitbart News previously reported.
The Navy provided training for enlisted sailors with a drag queen known by the stage name “Harpy Daniels.”
