Verizon, AT&T customers faced ‘nationwide issue’ affecting ability to make calls

“The interoperability issue between the carriers has been resolved,” an AT&T spokesperson said in an emailed statement to The Hill on Tuesday. “We are working with other carriers to find a resolution and thank our customers for their patience during this time.”

AT&T also told The Hill that its network did not suffer a “nationwide outage” and that “calls between customers were not affected.”

“We are experiencing a nationwide issue impacting some customers’ ability to complete inter-carrier calls,” a company spokesman said in a statement Tuesday.

The company said it was “working closely with other airlines to determine the nature of the issue and any necessary actions.”

According to CNBC, Verizon said its network was functioning normally, but “some customers, primarily in the Northeast and Midwest, were experiencing issues making calls and texting to and from customers of other carriers.”

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Said “We are aware of reports of consumers in multiple states experiencing wireless connectivity issues and are currently investigating,” the company said in a post on social platform X on Tuesday.
