Ironically, the court ruled based on Reconstruction-era laws banning discrimination, agreeing with critics of the fund that it was discriminatory to only support black women and their businesses.
Pierce slammed the ruling, saying, “Private investment in black-owned businesses is being blocked despite laws that prohibit discrimination against them. This is the irony of racism. The racist, bigoted, fascist Americans who burned down Tulsa’s Black Wall Street 100 years ago are alive and well today.”
He also accused white people, Republicans and Trump supporters of trying to remove black people from American society.
Pierce said those who want to remove government from our lives are using that ideal to exclude Black people. “The Republican, right wing and MAGA agenda make it clear that their vision of America does not include Black people having the same rights guaranteed in the Constitution. The actor also referenced Edward Blum, who won a temporary block on the race-based Fearless Fund, and used many of the metaphors of the Black Lives Matter movement, including falsely accusing police of unfairly attacking black people.
“I’m sick, damn it, of the lengths they will go to destroy our ability to live in peace and prosperity,” he wrote. “Attacked in our schools, attacked by police, attacked for expecting to live by the values set forth in this country, attacked for succeeding in business. We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal. For generations we have believed that lie, but the violence against our communities proves it.
