Gloria Allred, attorney for the family of cinematographer Halina Hutchins, who was killed on a film set in New Mexico rust — has slammed actor Alec Baldwin for launching a family reality TV show just a month before his manslaughter trial begins.
The new TV series will follow the daily lives of Baldwin, his wife Hilaria and their seven children, but Allred denounces it as a cynical attempt by Baldwin to rehabilitate his combative, hateful reputation just before he goes on trial for Hutchins’ death.
“This seems to me to be a calculated, cynical public relations stunt to get a New Mexico jury to think of him as a compassionate family man rather than the murderer of Halina Hutchins,” Allred said. Said TMZ.
Allred added that Hutchins is “the beloved daughter of our clients, Halina’s mother, Olga Solovey, Halina’s father, Anatoly Androsovich, and Halina’s sister, Svetlana Zemko.” In addition to her family, Hutchins is survived by her husband, Matthew, and their young children.
Hutchins’ husband had already sued Baldwin after the shooting, but the two sides settled out of court in October 2022.
Baldwin’s next trial for the accidental shooting that left Hutchins dead and Joel Cohen injured in October 2021 is scheduled to begin July 9. If convicted, Baldwin could face up to 18 months in prison.
One person who worked rust The production company has already been convicted for shooting Hutchins, and an arms dealer working on the film, Hannah Gutierrez Reed, was convicted and given the maximum sentence of 18 months in prison for manslaughter.
