Trump fumes over tech problems at his Las Vegas rally, threatens not to pay the crew

Former President Trump slammed the teleprompter operator for technical issues during a rally in Las Vegas on Sunday.

“I don’t have a teleprompter. It’s been that way since the beginning,” Trump told supporters who gathered under the scorching sun to show their support.

“I pay a lot of money to a teleprompter guy, and 20 percent of it doesn’t work. It doesn’t work. It’s wobbly. Can’t you just tie it a little tighter? You’re trying to see,” he said, pausing. “So we’re all in the same boat. It’s messed up.”

President Trump repeatedly expressed his dissatisfaction with the teleprompter issue during his speech.

At one point, Trump suggested he wasn’t happy with the teleprompter service and wouldn’t pay for it.

“He said, ‘Is the teleprompter not working?’ ‘Not at all,'” Trump said, appearing to recall the brief exchange with the flight attendant.

“Great job! And you don’t pay the company that did it, right?” Trump said. “And then it all comes down to, ‘Trump doesn’t pay.’ I don’t pay contractors that do crappy work. That’s a crappy job. That’s a crappy job. You can’t read a word of it.”

“And they’ll say, ‘Oh, that’s terrible. Trump is doing his…'” Trump interrupted, adding, “No… If you have good contractors, good subcontractors, you get paid before anybody else. But what if you have contractors that do this kind of work? I don’t mind hiring them.”

Trump was referring to previous reports that revealed hundreds of workers and contractors claimed they had not received their full pay from the former president.
