Democratic political strategist James Carville said he was disappointed that President Biden chose to seek reelection.
“I’m going to have to make a choice in November,” Carville said Sunday on 77WABC Radio’s “The Cats Roundtable.” “It’s not a choice I was passionate about.”
“I have been public about my belief that President Biden should not run for reelection.” Carville added:“But he did. That’s him and Trump.”

“But I support President Biden 1,000 percent,” he added. “He’s my choice.”
Radio host John Catsimatidis said Carville’s wife, longtime Republican strategist Mary Matalin, had disagreed with him over her support for her Democrat husband, Biden.
“We normally try to stay away from truce deals, but we’ve come to one,” Carville said of his political differences with his wife in a video reported by the New York Post.

Carville said that while Biden is not the ideal choice to lead the Democratic Party, the good news for the party is that there are plenty of capable politicians who could succeed him.
“What is not widely recognized about the current state of the Democratic Party is that [an] “There’s a huge number of incumbents out there,” Carville said, adding that his list of notable names includes Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, Maryland Gov. Wes Moore and Georgia Sen. Raphael Warnock.
“There’s a lot of talent, a lot of it young, dynamic and energetic,” he said.

Carville also revealed that what concerns him most about the current generation of Americans is their general lack of interest in public service and public life.
“My biggest concern in the United States is young people becoming disengaged from society,” he said.
The Biden campaign did not respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
