A shocking video has been posted showing water spurting from a fire hydrant and launching a vehicle into the air after a crash in Southern California.
The Orange County Fire Department said firefighters came across the unusual scene Sunday night in Lake Forest in the Los Angeles area.
“We recognize that this is not something we see every day,” the agency wrote to X.
Video shared by authorities shows water gushing from the fire hydrant lifting the back of an SUV off the ground.

“While the two individuals were being transported, firefighters on scene continued to work to shut off the water mains on either side of the hydrant,” the department added, “which allowed the vehicle to be lowered and ultimately allowed firefighters to access the water mains adjacent to the vehicle.”
The cause of the accident was not immediately clear.
