An illegal immigrant who successfully crossed the U.S.-Mexico border has “absconded” and is now accused of raping a child in the sanctuary state of Massachusetts.
Yader Alexander Morales Quevedo, a 24-year-old illegal immigrant from Guatemala, Crossed He crossed the southern border undetected by Border Patrol and entered the U.S. as one of millions of “fugitives” about whom the federal government has little or no information.
Morales-Quevedo was indicted on a child rape charge in New Bedford District Court in August 2022. The charge was ultimately upgraded to be tried in Bristol County Superior Court.
In January 2023, Morales-Quevedo was charged in Bristol County Superior Court with child rape, posing or displaying a child in a nude pose or sexual battery.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrested Morales-Quevedo on May 28. ICE officials said he will be held pending adjudication on the child rape charge.
“Yadel Alexander Morales Quevedo will now stand trial, facing very serious charges,” ICE official Todd Lyons said in a statement. “He posed a significant threat to children in our Massachusetts communities.”
Since President Joe Biden took office at the start of 2021, roughly 2 million undocumented immigrants have made it to safety. Crossed Southern border.
