Two female teachers have resigned from their jobs at a Wisconsin high school after a Janesville school district investigation found they sent sexually explicit messages and photos to at least one student.
Joseph Craig High School officials became aware of the inappropriate behavior after a teacher reported seeing photos of her co-worker, Alexia Sardaris, in her underwear on a student’s cell phone on April 11. The teacher notified staff, who began an investigation into the teacher.
“…includes cuddling, frolicking and the consumption of alcohol.”
The investigation found that Sardaris and another business education teacher, Jennifer Larson, sent Snapchat messages to one student during a field trip between April 7 and April 9. The messages included invitations to “cuddle” and to have “fun” with another student, according to the release. To WMTV-TV.
Sardaris also allegedly allowed the student to take “a spin” in a school district van in the parking lot and kissed the student inside the van while the student was removing her shoes.
Sardaris reportedly sent the student five photos of herself in her underwear on April 9. Other messages included plans to meet up over the weekend.
According to the report, Sardaris admitted to sending the images, while Larson admitted to sending messages “that included hugging, flirting and the appearance of alcohol.”
At one point, Sardaris reportedly sent the student a message telling her the relationship had to end, to which the student agreed.
Both teachers were placed on administrative leave on April 12, and the school district accepted their resignations on April 22.
While Sardaris had only been a teacher for a year, Larson was an 11-year veteran and also served as a school counselor for DECA Wisconsin, an organization that focuses on building leadership skills among youth.
WMTV reported that the school has concluded its investigation and that Janesville police are considering filing criminal charges in the incident.
