On Wednesday night, two police officers, including a New York Police Department (NYPD) officer, were involved in a shootout with a suspect at a hotel in Woodbridge, New Jersey, which ultimately resulted in the suspect’s death.
FOX5 in New York Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the NYPD, Woodbridge Police Department and Edison Police Department, responded to the incident, which occurred at the Raritan Hotel on King George Post Road, the report said.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident after a shootout with a suspect took place inside the hotel.
During the shootout, an NYPD officer was reportedly shot in the leg and a local officer was also shot, but it is unclear where the shot occurred.

Both officers are expected to recover from their injuries, authorities said.
Police ultimately shot and killed the suspect at the scene.
The circumstances of the shooting remain unclear.

“The NYPD detective shot and injured in Woodbridge, New Jersey, symbolizes the courage and dedication of our Detectives’ Fund Association members who put themselves at extreme risk to bring violent repeat offenders to justice,” DEA President Paul DiGiacomo told the news station. “Without their tireless work in tracking down the suspected attempted murderer, he may have struck again somewhere in our community. We are grateful that no funeral is planned and pay tribute to these brave detectives and officers of the Woodbridge Police Department.”
The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office is investigating the incident.
