The Fiscal Year 2025 National Defense Authorization Act would require women to register for the Selective Service System, according to a summary from the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Currently, men are required to register for the Selective Service System and may be drafted if conscripted.

The House passed the proposed NDAA on Friday, including a provision that would require automatic enrollment of men in the Selective Service System.
