Another thrilling day at Pinehurst came to a close as Bryson DeChambeau breezeed around the course, leaving him with a three-stroke lead heading into the final round of the U.S. Open.
Despite falling short to Xander Schauffele in the PGA Championship, DeChambeau is dominating in his third major of the year.
DeChambeau, captain of Crushers GC, is seeking his second U.S. Open title and will face Mathieu Pavon in the final pairing after winning his first title at Winged Foot in 2020.
Behind those two golfers are a host of other big names, including Rory McIlroy, who shot a 1-under 69 to lead the tournament by three strokes at 4 under par. A four-time major champion, McIlroy is in the running to win another major championship.
He will play with Patrick Cantlay, who finished at par on Saturday and is also at 4 under.
After three days of play on the difficult Pinehurst No. 2 Course, only 11 players are at even par or better. Seven are in the red.
