Kevin Costner has his eye on Horizon but hasn’t ruled out a return to Yellowstone.
The Academy Award-winning actor admitted that John Dutton will likely remain a part of him in the future, despite his special past with Taylor Sheridan.
Ahead of the release of the first installment of “Horizon: An American Saga,” CBS Sunday Morning I asked Costner if he’d like to return to “Yellowstone.”
“Yes, if I like the story and how it plays out, I’d do it again,” Costner admitted.

He also clarified that he didn’t need to leave the show to complete the film Horizon.
“I did everything I was contracted to do on ‘Yellowstone,'” Costner said.
Fox News Digital was in the courtroom when Costner, 69, hinted at a possible court showdown with ex-wife Christine Baumgartner over unpaid child support payments from her time in “Yellowstone.” Before a judge ruled in Costner’s favor over child support payments in September, Costner detailed the drama surrounding the show. “Yellowstone” Season 5.

Costner apparently had issues with the timing of shooting Yellowstone because he wanted to focus on Horizon, the first of the four-part series, which was in post-production and at a “critical” time in the creative process. “I’m here,” Costner emphasized on the stand.

“Along the way, they wanted to change it,” he said of the “Yellowstone” filming process. “They wanted to do 5A and 5B, so that affected ‘Horizon.’ I was going to do my movie ‘Horizon,’ leave that show, do my movie, and then do B.”
He added, “We used to do one show a year, but now we’re doing two.”
Costner explained that he was offered $24 million to appear in seasons five, six and seven of “Yellowstone” before the schedule fell through. The show was cancelled.
“It’ll probably end up in court,” Costner said when asked by his ex-wife’s lawyers if he received any compensation from the most recent season of “Yellowstone.”

He settled his divorce from Baumgartner and has since poured all his time, money and effort into “Horizon,” which opens in theaters on June 28. The second part of the post-Civil War drama hits theaters less than a month later, on August 16.

“I’m OK. I’m like a wagon going west,” Costner told CBS. “I’ve encountered everything you can imagine. I have to hold on to the rope because there’s a promise that I have to give the audience something. I want the audience to go west.”
Costner released the first trailer for the four-part post-Civil War drama in February, showcasing the Wild West era with which his name has become synonymous for decades. “Dances with Wolves”

In addition to starring in the feature film, Costner also directed “Horizon,” based on a screenplay he co-wrote with John Baird. But Kevin isn’t Costner’s only film credit. His 15-year-old son, Hayes Logan Costner, Not only did he make his acting debut, but he also inspired his father to eventually make films.

“I saw Hayes when I was 13 and I thought, ‘I have to make this movie.’ I wanted him to be in it, so I said I’d make it, and that was it,” Costner said.
The premise of “Horizon” wasn’t explained in the first three-minute trailer, but Costner American Southwest He then focused on the ensemble cast, which included Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, Giovanni Ribisi, Jena Malone and Abbey Lee.
Michael Rooker, Danny Huston, Luke Wilson, Isabelle Fuhrman, Jeff Fahey, Will Patton, Tatanka Means, Owen Crow Shoe and Ella Hunt round out the star-studded cast.

He remains committed to telling the true stories of the West, even when those stories are hard to hear.

“These towns didn’t just pop up like mushrooms. They were fought for,” Costner said. “These lands were fought for and always ended ugly for the Native Americans. So these are themes. I’m embarrassed by it, ashamed of how it happened, but I’m not afraid to talk about it. I love it.”
However, the film was expensive to make, costing Costner more than $20 million out of his own pocket, as his ex-wife, Christine Baumgartner, explained: Filed for divorce in May 2023 After 18 years of marriage.

Costner later clarified that the amount was actually much larger.
“I’ve heard I put $20 million of my own money into this movie,” he said. GQ magazine. “That’s not true. I’ve made about $38 million on this movie right now. That’s the truth. That’s the real figure.”

He is still raising funds for parts three and four and remains committed to completing the work he began more than 30 years ago.
“If I hear the word billionaire one more time, I think I’ll just flip out, because I don’t have the money and I don’t believe in this enough,” Costner said. “You know, all the cowards have loads of money because they’re smart and they won’t let it go. I’m not like that. I just really believe in the idea of what this can lead to, so I’m just going to keep pushing it.”
