“Fear and Anxiety”
Crime by illegal immigrants has become a growing concern among voters ahead of the November presidential election. Former President Donald Trump continued to pledge to deport illegal immigrants, but the number of migrants crossing the border has surged under the Biden administration.
President Joe Biden on Tuesday issued an executive order implementing the largest amnesty for illegal immigrants since the Obama-era DACA order. Critics have accused Biden of unconstitutionally changing policy without congressional approval, but it was also a challenge to former President Barack Obama’s amnesty order.
“They’ve lived in fear and anxiety in America for too long,” Biden said in the announcement. “We can fix that, and that’s what I’m doing today!”
