Florida Republicans are on track to put a 1 million registered voter lead over the state’s Democrats, about 60,000 away from reaching that milestone.
Florida Republicans have made progress on this front over the past three years, overtaking Democrats for the first time ever in November 2021. At the time, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said, “When I was elected Governor, there were 280,000 more registered Democrats than Republicans in the state of Florida.”
“Today, and I think it will be fully disclosed shortly, today, for the first time in the history of the state of Florida, we have overtaken the Democrats,” he said at a November press conference. “There are more registered Republicans in the state of Florida than there are Democrats.”

As Breitbart News has documented, this number has been rising for over two years.
From that moment on, Republicans continued to widen their lead, outnumbering Democrats by more than 100,000 just a few months later in March 2022. That figure doubled to 200,000 in July and was around 350,000 in December 2022. By February 2023, Republicans outnumbered Democrats by 400,000 in registered voters, swelling that figure to 680,030. As of October 31, 2023, there are 5,153,695 Republican voters and 4,473,665 Democratic voters.
In March 2024, Florida Republicans widened their lead in registered voters over Democrats by 850,000, and by June 2024, Republicans were approaching a 1 million registered voter advantage.

At this rate, Florida Republicans could easily hit the 1 million milestone before the November election. Former President Donald Trump continues to lead Biden in a Republican-leaning state over the past two election cycles, with the state voting for Trump in both 2016 and 2020.
