Trump 10 points up on Biden, new national poll shows 

A new poll shows former President Donald Trump leading President Biden by 10 points nationally in the 2024 presidential election.

Among third-party presidential candidates, independents Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Cornel West received 9% and 2% of the support, respectively, while Green Party candidate Jill Stein received 1%.

Trump also leads Biden in head-to-head races, with 49% approving him compared to Biden’s 40%. The poll found that 7% of voters said they would vote for another candidate, while 4% were undecided.

The Rasmussen Reports survey is clearly an anomaly among 2024 presidential election polls.

FiveThirtyEight’s average of recent polls shows the race quite close, with Biden at 40.7% and Trump at 40.4%.

The RealClearPolitics average of polls has Trump (46.1%) leading Biden (45.2%) by less than one percentage point. The pollster’s average of the five-way race has the former president’s lead growing to 1.9 points (42.1% to 40.2%).

“Trump beating Biden by 10 points,” wrote the graph Trump shared and pinned to the top of his timeline.

The poll also found that a majority of voters (54%) are dissatisfied with the job Biden is doing in the White House, and 59% say the government is doing too little to combat illegal border crossings and overstaying of visas.
