Major US telecom providers say customers traveling overseas having connectivity issues

With the holiday season in full swing, many Americans overseas are unable to contact loved ones back home.

Several major U.S. carriers reported Thursday that customers traveling internationally were experiencing connection issues due to issues with third-party network partners.

AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon have all confirmed that some users are having issues using roaming services while traveling internationally.

A person familiar with the matter told Reuters that Syniverse, a telecommunications company that works with international carriers to support roaming, is the third-party provider experiencing the issues.

Syniverse confirmed to the media that it was experiencing “intermittent connectivity issues” and was working with its network partners to resolve the issue. FOX Business has reached out to the company for an update.
