Police officers in Crawford County, Missouri, came across something “out of this world” when a unique vehicle caught their attention.
During a traffic stop on the interstate, officers pulled over the spaceship-like vehicle.
“Friendly humanoids coming to bring peace,” Crawford County Sheriff’s Office officials wrote in a Facebook post.
According to the post, the space vehicle was heading to Roswell, New Mexico, via Crawford County, for a festival Friday night.
The vehicle had been observed committing lane violations and had expired Indiana license plates, according to the sheriff’s office.
“The defendant understood that a lane violation was a possibility given the wind and traffic on the interstate, as well as the size and aerodynamics of the vehicle,” spokesman and Deputy Sheriff’s Maj. Adam Carnall said in an email to Fox News Digital.
The driver received a written warning for the offence.
Officers were able to capture several photographs of the moving “UFO.”
“Given how personable the driver was and how interesting the vehicle was, we decided to make a fun social media post for the community. We hope it’s a great interaction and we wish them a safe journey to their destination,” Carnall said.
The post garnered more than 12,000 reactions on Facebook, with users marveling at the unusual sight.
“Don’t mess with the aliens, they might have death ray weapons,” one man commented.
“Aliens have landed,” one woman wrote.
“I think we can all agree that if this doesn’t sound like the flying car from The Jetsons then it’s a huge missed opportunity,” said another.
“I’ve seen some pretty wacky and fun photos from various police departments and state police of different vehicles on the road going to these types of events, wacky vehicle conventions, etc,” one woman commented.
“That’s great! Your department has a great sense of humor,” one man said.
