American flag stolen from beloved theme park days before July 4th fireworks show

A large American flag has been stolen from a popular Wild West theme park that also has a railroad in North Carolina.

Tweetsie Railroad Theme Park in Blowing Rock, North Carolina, features classic steam trains, Western-themed shows, more than a dozen rides and activities like gold panning.

According to WXII-TV, the flag was stolen sometime between 10 p.m. Friday and 1 a.m. Saturday.

The Watauga County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the incident, WXII reported, and the sheriff’s office also believes the 30-foot by 50-foot flag that was hanging from the elevated train tracks was either ripped or cut.

Traditionally, Tweety Park hosts a Fourth of July fireworks display, and despite the American flag being stolen this year, Tweety Park will be hosting a fireworks display again this year.
