During Fox News Channel’s “Special Report” broadcast Wednesday, Rep. Daniel Goldman (D-NY) responded to Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) by saying President Joe Biden is being taken advantage of by those around him and calling for him to invoke the 25th Amendment, noting that Biden has had few personnel changes and that most of former President Donald Trump’s cabinet, a potential 2024 Republican presidential candidate, has refused to support him. “So let’s not just focus on Joe Biden here, but let’s focus on the people around him, his administration, his policies and most importantly, our appreciation and protection of the rule of law and democracy that Donald Trump has sworn to overturn every day.”
Goldman said Biden has been “energized” and smart over the past three and a half years, before adding, “Chip would have said much the same thing over the past three and a half years. The reality is that Joe Biden has surrounded himself with a highly capable team with little turnover. Meanwhile, 40 of 44 cabinet and senior officials in Donald Trump’s administration have refused to endorse Biden. 91%, including the vice president, believe Biden is unfit for the presidency. So let’s not just focus on Joe Biden here, but on the people around him, his administration, his policies and, above all, his appreciation for and protection of the rule of law and democracy that Donald Trump has sworn to subvert every day.”
Goldman also predicted that Biden will show people that this debate was unusual.
