LIV Golf’s Anthony Kim posted a strange message of encouragement on social media on Wednesday ahead of the series’ next event in Andalusia, Spain, next week.

In an early post about X, Kim mentioned that he works harder than a drug addict.

“Good morning. Does a drug addict ever go a day without finding a way to get high? No. I do,” he wrote. “I won’t let a drug addict outdo me today. 1% better today, try harder!!!”

Kim is tied for last place on the LIV Golf rankings after shooting even for 54 holes in Nashville last month to finish 46th. Going back to early May, he was 48th in Houston and 53rd in Singapore.

He had been off the PGA Tour for a few years but his return to the pro circuit was widely reported in January.

Kim’s last tournament before joining LIV Golf was the 2012 Wells Fargo Championship when he was 26 years old. He withdrew from that tournament due to injury, marking his third consecutive withdrawal.

A month later, Kim underwent surgery to repair his left Achilles tendon, but since then he has not been heard from in the golf world, leading many to question whether he would even return.

Kim played in 122 PGA Tour matches, but also struggled with tendonitis in his left arm and an injury to his left thumb.

He spoke candidly about his struggles with addiction during an interview with LIV Golf Plus in April.

“Golf is important to me and not important at the same time,” Kim said. From ESPN“There were some very dark moments. There were some moments where I felt very depressed. I felt very alone even though there were a million people around me. I needed to take control and understand my purpose on this earth.”
