Joy Reid says she'd vote for Biden if he was 'in a coma'

MSNBC host Joy Reid said in a TikTok post on Thursday that she would “vote” even if President Biden was “in a coma.”

“By the way, if Biden is in a coma, I’m voting for Biden in a coma,” Reid said. He said in the videoShe emphasized her desire to prevent former President Trump from winning a second term.

Reid made it clear that her reason for voting for Biden over Trump was because she was concerned about the damage that would be done to the country if Trump were re-elected.

She said she “isn’t even particularly fond” of Biden or most of “his policies.”

“he [Trump]right?'” Reid continued.

Democrats across the country are debating whether Biden should remain the party’s standard-bearer this fall, after his uneasy debate performance intensified concerns about his age.

The White House has insisted that Biden, 81, has no plans to withdraw from the presidential race, and in a fundraising email sent Wednesday, Biden said no one is “trying to get rid of” him.

“I am the Democratic candidate,” the fundraising email said. “No one is trying to get rid of me. I have no plans to go away. I am going to fight this race to the end. And we are going to win this election. If that’s all you want to hear, please support me by donating a few dollars.” [Vice President Harris] And I’m going to defeat Donald Trump in November.”

Harris has emerged as the most likely Democrat to replace Biden if he leaves office, but has not indicated she would support such a change.

Three House Democrats have called on Biden to drop out of the 2024 presidential race.

Rep. Seth Moulton, a Massachusetts Democrat, said Thursday on Boston-area radio station WBUR that Biden has “given great service to our country, but it’s time to follow in the footsteps of one of our founding fathers, George Washington, and step aside so new leadership can rise up and stand up to Trump.”
